Additional Darwin Day events

Thanks to all who have been telling me about Florida Darwin Day / Year of Science events. Here are a couple more. A full event list can be found on the bottom of our home page.

>> South Florida Community College will be hosting a Darwin Day Event on Thursday,February 12 at 7PM in their University Center Auditorium – Avon Park, Florida.

The speaker will be Hilary M. Swain, PhD – Director of Archbold Biological Station. The topic is Darwin’s 21st Century Voyage to the Lake Wales Ridge.  The event is open to the public.

>> On Wednesday, February 4, 2009, New College will host the third lecture in the New Topics New College series.  Professor Tim Berra, professor emeritus of Evolution, Ecology and Organismal Biology at the Ohio State University, will discuss the life and legacy of Charles Darwin.  The event will take place at the Mildred Sainer Pavilion and begins at 7:00 pm.

    Don’t forget that many religious congregations are hosting Evolution Weekend events. They are listed at the Clergy Letter Project site here.
