“Fun with science”

The University of West Florida and the Florida Institute for Human and Machine Cognition will offer a “Fun with Science!” session this Saturday for sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade students.

January 24 – Three Sessions 9:30-11:30 a.m.

* Building a Hydrometer (25 students) – students will build a hydrometer and use it to determine the contentration of sugar in various fruit juices and other beverages
* Polymer Chemistry (25 students) – students will learn about polymer structure and properties by making several different polymers and evaluating their physical properties (CLOSED)
* Metric Cookies (20 students) – students will do metric measurements, with some guessing and competition, and generate/evaluate the recipe for chocolate chip cookies
