UWF: Fun with science!

The University of West Florida (Pensacola) chemistry department is hosting a series of Saturday “Fun with Science” programs for kids in grades 6 – 8.

There will be a brief introductory lecture for each session followed by the activity period where the students perform the hands-on experiments. Activities will be fun, very hands-on, and appropriate for middle school kids.

September 20- Chemistry of Fireworks
October 18- National Chemistry Week
November 15- Physics
December 6- Plant Biology

A capacity of 50 participants has been set. Participants must register for the sessions in advance, and registration will be separate for each individual session. Please contact Cindy Williams at (850)474-2739 or cwilliam@uwf.edu to register.

I looks like the partner organization in this, the Institute for Human and Machine Cognition, also has a program for the younger grades of 3 – 5.

September 13 : Flight
October 25: Chemistry – presented by the American Chemical Society Pensacola Section
November 8: Electronics
December 6: Balloon cars

Sign up for each session will begin two weeks prior to each session. Please call 850-202-4462 to register.
