There is hope

As Paul Cottle at Bridge to Tomorrow notes (welcome back to blogging Paul!) Kansas adopted the Next Generation Science Standards with little fuss. However, as the linked article notes:

Friends and foes of the Common Core math and English standards crowded the boardroom of the Kansas State Board of Education Tuesday, presenting hours of testimony on the topic and overshadowing a vote on new science standards.

The science standards passed late in the afternoon, by which time most of the crowd had already left.

So far, there has been no public backlash against the NGSS here in Florida. At least, none that I could find. Yes, we are standing by in the event such an eruption happens, but so far so good.
