National Common Core Standards,Pros and Cons

Paul Cottle and I have been discussing the pros and cons of the National Science Standards and whether it could be beneficial to science education if the state adopted them in 2011. Paul makes a convincing case why we should. Some would suggest that we have spent a great deal of time and effort implementing the new state standards. Perhaps we should stick with them? Others would argue that the National Standards would remain as written, immune from the tampering of creationists and politicians.  Read Paul’s summery at a Bridge To Tomorrow
