Silly Season: Florida House, District 71

Republicans Chris Constance and Ken Roberson are vying for the Florida House in District 71. FYI:

He [Constance] has endeavored, along with Roberson, to portray himself as the candidate of the Republican right (both support requiring public school teachers to offer “alternative” theories to evolution).

I think one word in there is of particular significance: requiring. Not permitting. Requiring.

Here’s another: Benaim: Four more years. Excerpt:

District 1 runs from Palm Beach Gardens north, west through a bit of The Acreage, and out to Pahokee, where Dr. Benaim has been an advocate of a separate middle school with a full health clinic. He also has supported expanded vocational programs, which he credits with a slight, but real improvement in the graduation rate. For more dramatic improvement, he says, parents will need to get more involved.

His opponents are Kelly Sturmthal, who advocates teaching creationism in science classes, and Jonathan Williams, who tried to have candidates thrown off the ballot for an 8-cent error in filing fees.

(both support requiring public school teachers to offer “alternative” theories to evolution).

Have either made a sugestion as to what an alternative theory might be?

  3. PatrickHenry says:

Oh yes. You’ve heard of the “out of Africa” theory for human origins. Well, the creation science alternative is the “Out of Uranus” theory.

  4. Jonathan Smith says:

Well, the creation science alternative is the “Out of Uranus” theory.

    ROTFLMAO
