I thought it was pretty good, but like PZ I think it could have spent more time on inverts (esp. Mollusca) and probably skipped the T. rex (yes, I know…dinosaurs have market appeal).

Is it me or has The History Channel pretty much punked The Discovery Channel when it comes to science series (eg. The Universe)? I used to refer to The History Channel as “The War Channel” but they seemed to have (wisely) moved away from that.

The History Channel does a lot of Nostradamus stuff too. Some days they’re good, other days they’re worthless. The Science Fiction channel seems to have gone all horror, all the time. Worthless. Channels with paid veg-o-matic commercials are more interesting.

    PH,

I agree about THC, but I was just giving them cred for dumping a lot of that war porn and picking up more substative series.

The SciFi channel has demonstrated why CGI is a horrible thing in the wrong hands. Their material is so bad it isn’t even cheesy fun. They went off my radar when they stopped showing MST3K.

I watched it. It was pretty good, but I tend to enjoy ‘Shark Week’ more and it took me away from that-so I might have been biased against it.
