It&#8217;s great to see <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tallahassee.com\/article\/20090321\/FSU01\/903210325\/1008\">positive reports<\/a> coming out of this whole event.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Origins &#8217;09 has been a success since its debut Tuesday, with standing-room-only crowds attending the events.<\/p>\n<p>Flatow wasn&#8217;t surprised. Talking before his show, he said science is more popular than many people realize.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We regularly draw huge crowds,&#8221; he said. &#8220;You might not think so, but people love to talk about science.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>E.O. Wilson <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tallahassee.com\/article\/20090322\/BREAKINGNEWS\/90321006\">will be talking tonight<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Sometimes called the Atticus Finch of science, Wilson will be speaking Monday night (8 p.m., free and open to the public) about one of his favorite topics, Charles Darwin.<\/p>\n<p>While Darwin, whose 200th birthday is being recognized this year at venues across the nation, was dead set against religious thinking affecting science, the 79-year-old Wilson has been working tirelessly to find common ground for academics and evangelicals.<\/p>\n<p>There\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a planet to be saved, Wilson reasons, and we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re all in this together.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NPR&#8217;s Science Friday was in Tallhassee last week for Origins &#8217;09.
