In a followup to the previous story<\/a>, students were excited to see some astronomy in action<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The final bell had rung Wednesday afternoon, but more than 50 Naples High School students gathered in the center of campus, put on what looked like 3-D glasses or looked through a telescope and stared at the sun.<\/p>\n

Naples High School astronomy teacher Bart Thomas, students, other teachers and even youth resource officers gathered in the courtyard at the school to view the transit. Thomas had special telescopes, solar viewers and even glasses with filters to allow everyone to watch.<\/p>\n

Sam Buckel, 17, said the sighting was everything he expected.<\/p>\n
