Crist supports Year of Science 2009!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Florida Citizens for Science is a proud member of the Coalition\u00c2\u00a0on the Public Understanding of Science (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.copusproject.org\/\">COPUS<\/a>), which is launching a big <a href=\"http:\/\/www.yearofscience2009.org\/home\/\">Year of Science 2009<\/a>. And it looks like Florida&#8217;s very own Gov. Crist has <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.aibs.org\/copus\/2008\/12\/florida_governor_charlie_crist.html\">put our state out in front <\/a>by being the first to officially proclaim 2009 as the Year of Science!<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The Tampa Bay Hub and Orlando hubs are proud to announce that Governor Crist has officially proclaimed 2009 as the Year of Science in Florida. In addition, the Governor\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s office is currently working to identify ways they can support Year of Science events and initiatives around the state. We\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re excited to be working with them and look forward to the many exciting new collaborations on the horizon!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Now, let&#8217;s hope our state doesn&#8217;t turn around and get egg on its face later.
