The heat is turned up over at the News Chief newspaper. Yet another response (first here<\/a>, second here<\/a>) to our initial statement<\/a> appears, this time in the form of a whole guest column<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Jonathan Smith (Sept. 24 letter to the editor) castigates those who believe in the Creator:<\/p>\n

“Creationism (is) anti-science … a charade … a sham … a con game …”<\/p>\n

He proselytizes for the religion of evolutionism. This religion believes, first, there was nothing at all; next, this nothingness exploded; then, some nonintelligence formed it into an awesome design. He calls this religion scientific and says “Creationism doesn’t fit in this framework.”<\/p>\n

Thank goodness!<\/p>\n

Mr. Smith further alleges: “There is no doubt about the theory of evolution in the scientific community. There is no controversy.”<\/p>\n

The facts beg to differ, as does the scientific community, with Mr. Smith.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And from there the article delves into a long list of quotes strung together supposedly casting doubt on evolution.<\/p>\n
