In it they say, &#8220;the &#8216;Academic Freedom Act&#8217; is a subterfuge for injecting the religious beliefs held by some into the science classroom.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Stick to the science. We have great science standards that the State Board of Education has adopted\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s time to move on and teach them,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d said Paul Cottle, FSU Professor and math and science writer.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153I guess they haven\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t read the bill, because the bill specifically says it doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t promote religious dogma, any religious perspective. It does not promote creative\/creation science and it also does not promote intelligent design,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d said Senator Storms.<\/p>\n<p>The \u00e2\u20ac\u0153American Freedom Act\u00e2\u20ac\u009d is supposed to be heard in a committee for the first time later this week.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I don&#8217;t know what this <strong>American <\/strong>Freedom Act is. I&#8217;m guessing that the reporter just screwed up the name. And, yes, Senator Storms, we have read the bill, but even more than that, we know where it came from and the long, long history behind it.
