The only unique thing here is that one person on the board didn&#8217;t vote for the resolution, whereas all other resolutions passed unanimously.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The majority of board members supported the resolution. Board member Ginger Littleton cast the only dissenting vote.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/scienceblogs.com\/gregladen\/2008\/02\/local_florida_school_board_rej.php\">Greg Laden<\/a> read a better <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wmbb.com\/gulfcoastwest\/mbb\/news.apx.-content-articles-MBB-2008-02-13-0012.html\">news account<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0of the meeting.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Board member Ginger Littleton said she could not support the resolution.\u00c2\u00a0 She believes this is more of a political move than an educational statement.\u00c2\u00a0 She asked if any member had read the Sunshine State Standards completely, to which no board member could say yes.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>You see, not all of these school board members are hopeless. Thank you, Ms. Littleton, for speaking up!\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Putnam County is going to be late to the party. Their school board meeting is the same day as the State Board of Education meeting.
