Our very first county school board has approved a resolution <strong>in support<\/strong> of the standards. Thank you, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.monroe.k12.fl.us\/schoolBoard\/agenda_folders\/07_08_agenda_folders\/Feb12\/Resolution%20in%20Support%20of%20Florida.pdf\">Monroe County<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p>The members of the framing and writing committees who created these great science standards <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.tampabay.com\/schools\/files\/sboe8febfinal.doc\">sent their own letter<\/a> to the Board of Education defending the inclusion of evolution.<\/p>\n<p>The American Institute of Biological Sciences <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aibs.org\/position-statements\/20080208_february_2008_a.html\">released a letter<\/a> in support of the science standards.<\/p>\n<p>Americans United for Separation of Church and State also <a href=\"http:\/\/www.commondreams.org\/news2008\/0212-11.htm\">released a letter<\/a> in support of the standards.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.floridaacademyofsciences.org\/\">Florida Academy of Sciences<\/a> presented a supporting resolution at Monday&#8217;s public forum meeting in Orlando. I called their office today to confirm they had a resolution, and I was told they would send me a copy tomorrow. I&#8217;ll post it as soon as I can.
