We now know the conservative organization <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flvotesvalues.com\/\">Florida Votes Values<\/a> started rolling out their surveys with ones for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flvotesvalues.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/2018-Lake-fl-primary-voter-guide-1pg-final.pdf\">Lake<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flvotesvalues.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/2018-Marion-fl-primary-voter-guide-1pg-final.pdf\">Marion<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flvotesvalues.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/2018-slc-fl-primary-voter-guide-p1-2.pdf\">St. Lucie<\/a> Counties, and they&#8217;ve promised more are on the way.<\/p>\n<p>Among the topics candidates are asked to support or oppose are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Amend DOE Curriculum Framework for Biology and Life Science to allow the teaching of life by intelligent design.<\/li>\n<li>Allowing parents the right to withdraw their children from classes teaching material contrary to their moral values.<\/li>\n<li>Stressing basic academic skills (i.e. reading, writing, mathematics) over social programs (i.e. social engineering, political advocacy on specific issues, organizing political protests, etc.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Specifically mentioning intelligent design, which was found to be a religious view and not science during the\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ncse.com\/library-resource\/kitzmiller-v-dover-intelligent-design-trial\">2005 Pennsylvania Federal District Court case Kitzmiller v. Dover<\/a>, seems like a very dumb move here. It looks like the statement was simply copied from previous years&#8217; surveys. That&#8217;s OK. It helps us establish a paper trail in the event someone does get elected and tries to stir up trouble of this nature.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the folks at the Florida Citizens&#8217; Alliance have partnered with the\u00c2\u00a0Christian Family Coalition Florida to <a href=\"http:\/\/floridacitizensalliance.com\/liberty\/2018-flca-cfc-florida-voter-guides\/\">produce voter guides<\/a>. However, no science related topics are included on the surveys released so far.
