{"id":2217,"date":"2014-08-14T20:02:53","date_gmt":"2014-08-15T00:02:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.flascience.org\/wp\/?p=2217"},"modified":"2014-08-14T20:02:53","modified_gmt":"2014-08-15T00:02:53","slug":"i-stand-by-that-decision","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.flascience.org\/?p=2217","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;I stand by that decision&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Pinellas County school board candidate Ken Peluso was briefly on the hot seat when he said he <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flascience.org\/wp\/?p=2208\">believed that creationism and evolution should be taught together <\/a>so that students could &#8220;draw their own conclusions.&#8221; He later told the Tampa Bay Times that he reversed that comment, claiming that the question caught him off guard.<\/p>\n<p>The newspaper&#8217;s<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tampabay.com\/blogs\/gradebook\/controversy-about-pelusos-creationism-comments-continues\/2192711\"> Gradebook blog has now noted<\/a> that Peluso was at a separate event later on the day he made that creationism comment and he verified his stance.
