Friends and foes of the Common Core math and English standards crowded the boardroom of the Kansas State Board of Education Tuesday, presenting hours of testimony on the topic and overshadowing a vote on new science standards.<\/p>\n

The science standards passed late in the afternoon, by which time most of the crowd had already left.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
