There has been some, but it could have been much worse. I know I&#8217;m late in doing this, but I think it&#8217;s time to see how known creationist candidates did in the primaries.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ll start in House District 17. All three Republican candidates for the seat had creationist leanings, but <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flascience.org\/wp\/?p=1644\">Kim Kendall<\/a> was the one most well known for her anti-evolution activism. She lost: <a href=\"http:\/\/staugustine.com\/news\/local-news\/2012-08-15\/renuart-wins-third-term-defeating-davis-and-kendall#.UC12E6OsqPQ\">Renuart wins third term, defeating Davis and Kendall<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In a Hillsborough County School Board race, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flascience.org\/wp\/?p=1629\">Terry Kemple<\/a> moves on to a runoff: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tampabay.com\/news\/education\/k12\/both-remaining-hillsborough-school-board-candidates-come-with-controversy\/1246039\">Both remaining Hillsborough School Board candidates come with controversy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flascience.org\/wp\/?p=1627\">Jodi Wood<\/a> lost in his bid for a seat on the Alachua County School Board: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gatorsports.com\/article\/20120814\/ARTICLES\/120819760\">McNealy, Sharpe move to runoff in School Board race<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, in Pinellas County School Board races <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flascience.org\/wp\/?p=1593\">Corey Givens<\/a> lost while <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flascience.org\/wp\/?p=1593\">Elliott Stern<\/a> heads to a runoff: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tampabay.com\/news\/education\/k12\/pinellas-school-board-races-headed-for-runoffs\/1245814\">Pinellas School Board races headed for runoffs<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If any of you know of interesting races I missed, feel free to say so in the comments.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There hasn&#8217;t been very much creationism craziness in this year&#8217;s elections here in Florida.
