But I will post an interesting portion here and leave it up to you folks to comment, as I know you will.

“Because of my scientific background I was able to see the flaws in the evolutionary theory — life formed from non-living chemicals.

“When you understand the process, you understand that it is impossible.”

[Dr. Richard Pierce, a scientist at Mote Marine] is brilliant and articulate, but he understands that “amino acids” and “biological active protein, DNA-RNA encoded complex molecular structure” extrapolated to evolution remains beyond some of us.

Information and prayer strengthened Pierce’s faith; teaching, he said, allowed him to gain a much deeper understanding of biochemistry. He voraciously read his Bible, but added that he was “still hung up on evolution.”

“I prayed about it; God spoke to me,” Pierce said.

“He said ‘Don’t worry about it. I did it. It doesn’t matter.’ That relieved me.”

He said that he realized that “the evolution diversion causes people to stumble rather than succeed.”

Scientific research supports “intelligent design far superior to human,” Pierce said. “The conflict is not between science and religion, rather between two world views — naturalism and theism.”

But the only politically correct approach, he continued, is neo-Darwinian evolution; “Thus God and intelligent design is not allowed in the equation.”

I’m really not quite sure what the purpose of this article in the Sarasota Herald-Tribune is: Scientist talks about his faith.
