For those of you keeping score at home, we have a few interesting Florida science-related issues coming up this week.<\/p>\n

First, the Florida Board of Education on Thursday will consider the Education Commissioner’s recommendation to put a band-aid on the state’s current science standards and possibly adopt the National Science Standards<\/a> down the road.<\/p>\n

Also on Thursday, the NAEP (The Nation’s Report Card) will release its 8th grade science assessment results<\/a>.<\/p>\n

And then on Friday, a draft of the National Science Standards, which the Florida Education Commissioner is recommending the state consider adopting, will be released for public review and comment<\/a>. They will be online for public comment for three weeks, until June 1.<\/p>\n
