The timing of this training is critically important because, in 2006-2007, student FCAT science scores are tied to school grades.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Because science is a field that changes daily due to research, it is important to stay abreast of new developments,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d said Brenda Crouch, a consultant with the Panhandle Area Educational Consortium (PAEC). \u00e2\u20ac\u0153One of the best ways to stay current is to attend a national conference that offers pre-conference institutes and more than 1,200 concurrent sessions for science educators. Professional development of this caliber is expensive, and our small, rural districts cannot afford to pay for teachers to attend the conference and for travel costs associated with attendance.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>That is, until now.
