Here are some interesting things to keep you occupied, though.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; The Scientist magazine took note of our Stick Science contest: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.the-scientist.com\/blog\/display\/55803\/\">Sticking it to science<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; The National Center for Science Education folks <a href=\"http:\/\/ncseweb.org\/rncse\/28\/4\/evolution-sunshine-state-fight-over-evolution-state-science-\">kindly posted online<\/a> a lengthy story I wrote for their newsletter about the fight over Florida&#8217;s science standards.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Did you know that some University of Florida folks put on a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gainesville.com\/article\/20090619\/ARTICLES\/906191006\/1002?Title=Animal-investigation-\">Veterinary Forensics Crime Scene Investigations<\/a> workshop?<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Could a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tcpalm.com\/news\/2009\/jun\/19\/editorial-archaeological-find-may-be-enormously\/\">Florida archaeological find<\/a> show that humans have co-existed with prehistoric beasts along the Treasure Coast more than 13,000 years ago?<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Here&#8217;s a couple of articles about a girls&#8217; STEM summit here in Florida: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bradenton.com\/education\/story\/1523838.html\">here<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.heraldtribune.com\/article\/20090625\/ARTICLE\/906251052\/-1\/NEWSSITEMAP\">here<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bradenton.com\/714\/story\/1543678.html\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tampabay.com\/news\/education\/k12\/article1012101.ece\">Twenty-six high school teachers<\/a> stood with straws in mouths and spoons at the ready.
