Over a \u00c2\u00a0100 Florida professors of physics, earth\/space science and related fields\u00c2\u00a0have asked\u00c2\u00a0Gov. Charlie Crist to\u00c2\u00a0oppose legislative plans that they fear would leave\u00c2\u00a0physics on the fringes of science instruction in high schools. In\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0this letter<\/a><\/span> to\u00c2\u00a0 Crist they stated “Our state\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s high schools must provide world-class instruction to our students in all of the fields covered by the new Sunshine State Standards in science,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n

The professors<\/a><\/span> also write that DOE\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s professional development program for teachers<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0is \u00e2\u20ac\u0153inadequate,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and that can ultimately, only lead to the short changing of the states students.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
