Upcoming stuff

For those of you keeping score at home, we have a few interesting Florida science-related issues coming up this week.

First, the Florida Board of Education on Thursday will consider the Education Commissioner’s recommendation to put a band-aid on the state’s current science standards and possibly adopt the National Science Standards down the road.

Also on Thursday, the NAEP (The Nation’s Report Card) will release its 8th grade science assessment results.

And then on Friday, a draft of the National Science Standards, which the Florida Education Commissioner is recommending the state consider adopting, will be released for public review and comment. They will be online for public comment for three weeks, until June 1.

Yup, it’s a busy week! Should be fun.
