Science Professors Press Gov Crist for Action

Over a  100 Florida professors of physics, earth/space science and related fields have asked Gov. Charlie Crist to oppose legislative plans that they fear would leave physics on the fringes of science instruction in high schools. In  this letter to  Crist they stated “Our state’s high schools must provide world-class instruction to our students in all of the fields covered by the new Sunshine State Standards in science,”

The professors also write that DOE’s professional development program for teachers is “inadequate,” and that can ultimately, only lead to the short changing of the states students.
